A problem

Hello everyone. Sorry for not posting for so long, first there were exams and then I just didn’t get time. This is a question of what to do if your teacher is wrong and is not ready to believe she is. This has now happened to me multiple types and I get frowned upon for criticizing her. 2 instances were in my exams. In both cases, I got marks cut due to her mistake and I didn’t get full marks. I was just asking if any of you can answer the following questions.

△ABC
∠ABC = 30
∠BCA = 90
AC = 9cm

△EFG
∠FGE = 90
GE = 9cm
EF = 18cm

△XYZ
∠ZXY = 60
∠YZX = 90
YZ = 18

Which of the triangles are congruent? (use only properties of triangles, grade 7)

I chose the answer △ABC is congruent to △EFG as in triangle △ABC when you create a mirror triangle at BC, you get an equilateral triangle. Ma’am argued of △A and △XYZ because of reasons unknown.

If x = (3/2)^2 * (2/3)^(-4), find x^(-2)

My answer was (2/3)^12, but she still cut my marks for not giving the value of x? Its given in the question!

If my answers were wrong, please tell and I will practice more.

  1. Wow, this stuff is way over MY head. But when I was in high school (before the Flood), I was told I had given a wrong answer where the question was, “Which number can not be replaced with “half.” They all equaled half as far as I was concerned, including “5 of the 10 girls.” My teacher said it was wrong, because the answer wasn’t half a girl. I said it was half the girlS, because the sentence said “girlS,” and you could replace “5” with “half.” She remained unconvinced. It was the only question of hundreds that I got “wrong” on a standardized math test. As you might guess, I ended up majoring in English instead. 😉
